  • Production - Module 4 (Basic Mixing)

    Note: this session teaches hands on music engineering skills. You will leave with a certificate acknowledging your attendance and a foundation knowledge of the skills needed to prepare your track for mastering. Lesson lengths are approximate. This is Module 4 of our Music Production course which is delivered 1 on 1 (only 1 person per booking can attend), using online video conferencing software, by one of our experienced Producers. Certain equipment is required - see "Prerequisites" section below. This session follows on directly from "Production - Module 2". In this module we look at some fundamental points and techniques for mixing down a track in preparation for mastering. The mixdown is by far the most technical and most important part in achieving a great sounding final product. Prerequisites Knowledge: Ideally people attending this session will have attended Module 2. Attendees MUST have an excellent knowledge of at least one Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and previous experience using Virtual Studio Technology (VSTs). Equipment: You MUST HAVE a computer or other device with an internet connection. The device must be capable of reproducing sound clearly. This session is also based around a visual presentation of music software so you must be able to see the material using the screen on your device.     Note: this is a basic underpinning knowledge session and does not teach hands on music production skills. You will leave with a certificate acknowledging your attendance and a foundation knowledge of the music business. Lesson lengths are approximate. This is Module 7 of our Music Production course which is delivered online via video conference by one of our experienced industry managers. In this module we look at some basic elements of the music business side of things including an introduction to copyright, publishing, distribution and music contracts.   • Learn to DJ - Module 3 (preparation)

    This is Module 3 of our DJ course which is delivered 1 on 1, face to face at one of our studios we have available (in the north of England) by one of our experienced DJ trainers. This session is intended to follow on directly from "Learn to DJ - Module 2". In this module we look at the fundamentals of understanding the event/venue, your set time and some tools used to prepare a good set/performance. We will also teach you skills on how to tap into your instincts and actively read a crowd and change direction during your performance. Note: this session teaches intermediate hands on DJ'ing skills as well as software use for preparing performances. You will leave with a certificate acknowledging your attendance and an excellent knowledge of using forethought, instinct and technology to improve your performances. This session is intended to start at the very beginning of your learning journey. In this module we look briefly at the history of modern DJ'ing before identifying, understanding and setting up some of the equipment used. Note: this is a basic underpinning knowledge session and does not teach hands on DJ'ing/performance skills. You will leave with a certificate acknowledging your attendance and a basic level knowledge of DJ'ing equipment and how to set it up properly.     This is Module 5 of our DJ course which is delivered 1 on 1, face to face at one of our studios we have available (in the north of England) by one of our experienced DJ trainers. This session is the final module in our "Learn to DJ" course. In this module we look at some of the practical, legal and less talked about elements of becoming and being a professional. We will focus on who you want to be as an artist and how your behaviour and appearance can effect what you do. As part of this service you will be provided with a bespoke Booking Agreement (Performance Contract) to use when agreeing the terms of your performances with clients. Note: this is an underpinning knowledge session and does not teach hands on DJ'ing/performance skills. You will leave with a certificate acknowledging your attendance.
